Lot 968: A Mid-Century Chrome and White Vinyl Tripod Stool
A mid-century chrome and white vinyl tripod stool, designed as a vanity or occasional seat. The stool features a circular padded seat upholstered in white vinyl faux leather, finished with a centrally placed button tuft. The seat is supported by a polished chrome-plated metal tripod base, consisting of three slender radiating legs, each terminating in a black plastic protective foot. A small white rectangular adhesive label is adhered to the top of the seat bearing the handwritten characters 576b or 5766, which appears to be an internal auction inventory mark. No other maker’s marks, manufacturer labels, or country-of-origin stamps are visible on the piece.
Large-scale furniture items; exact dimensions are not provided.
Condition report:
The stool is in used condition with visible wear. The white vinyl upholstery shows significant surface soiling, greyish marks, and general staining across the top and sides. The polished chrome-plated base exhibits minor surface scratches and light pitting consistent with age and use. The black plastic feet appear intact but show typical scuffing from floor contact.
