Lot 91: An Antique Cast Iron Equestrian Boot Rack / Scraper
An antique cast iron equestrian boot rack / scraper of circular form, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The heavy cast iron base incorporates four parallel horizontal bars designed for cleaning footwear. To the perimeter are six vertical rods, each topped with a spherical finial, providing storage for three pairs of inverted boots. The front is embellished with a cast horse head mascot set upon a scrolled bracket. The structure exhibits a natural weathered finish with significant oxidation and surface rust throughout. There are no maker’s marks, factory stamps, or signatures legible on the metalwork.
