A mid-20th-century timber workbench with integrated bench vice. The piece is constructed from heavy timber, featuring a thick, multi-planked top surface supported by square-section legs, one of which has a metal reinforcement at the base. The unit incorporates a vertical bank of two drawers with dark-finished fronts and recessed circular metal pull handles. Fixed to the edge of the bench is a cast-metal bench vice with a green-painted finish. The workbench displays a significant industrial patina, with extensive multi-coloured paint splattering, surface staining, and various indentations across the top surface and drawer fronts. No maker’s marks, stamps, or identification labels are legible on either the wooden structure or the metal vise.
