Lot 458: A Collection of Rayware and Jiepai White Ceramic Teaware
A collection of Rayware and Jiepai white ceramic teaware, comprising components from two distinct services. The first group includes a teapot with a matching lid, teacups, and saucers, all featuring a moulded fluted body decorated with a grey transfer-printed band of foliate scrolls and floral motifs. The base of these pieces bears a black printed backstamp featuring two columns of Chinese characters for China and Jiepai flanking a rectangular device, above the text MADE IN CHINA. The second group consists of teacups and saucers in a plain white glaze with a moulded swirl design. These items are marked to the base with a circular green stamp reading Rayware CERAMICS FOR TODAY in the centre.
