Lot 501: A Collection of Poole Pottery Summer Glory Tableware
A collection of English earthenware oven to tableware from the Summer Glory pattern by Poole Pottery. The assortment includes mugs, large single-handled soup cups, a small cream jug, and a shaker. Each piece features a transfer-printed decoration of wild flowers, grasses, and wheat ears in tones of burnt orange, brown, and yellow with blue highlights on a cream-flecked ground. The rims are accented with a simple brown line. The items carry two variations of printed backstamps. One is printed in brown and displays the pattern name ‘Summer Glory’ above a dolphin device and the words ‘Poole England oven to tableware A’. The other is printed in grey and shows the uppercase text ‘POOLE ENGLAND’ above a dolphin device and the text ‘oven to tableware microwave & freezer safe’.
