Lot 553: Two clocks, comprising a Smiths Enfield mantel clock and a Seiko table clock
An English Smiths Enfield mantel clock featuring a square, dark-stained wooden case. The square brown dial is set with gilt Arabic numerals at the even hours and dot markers for the odd hours, with ornate brass hands. The dial is printed with the words SMITHS, ENFIELD, and MADE IN ENGLAND. To the rear, a hinged door reveals a brass mechanical twin-train striking movement, the plate of which is stamped MADE IN ENGLAND and 45. The movement strikes on a spiral wire gong. A Seiko table clock is also included, featuring a black contoured casing. The cream oval dial is set with black Arabic numerals and a black outer minute track, with the name SEIKO printed at the centre. The lot is accompanied by a black circular winding key with a metal shaft.
