Lot 626: A Pair of Cased Silver-Plate Fish Servers
A pair of matching fish servers comprising a serving knife and fork. The set features silver-plated metal components, with the knife blade and the shoulders of the fork decorated with engraved foliate scrollwork. The metal elements are secured to off-white, opaque handles by ribbed white-metal ferrules. The handles are smooth and polished, appearing to be bone or a synthetic composite material. The set is presented in a fitted black textured case with a gold-coloured linear border. The interior of the case is lined with ruched white satin to the lid and black velvet to the base. No hallmarks, maker’s marks, or country-of-origin marks are visible on the metal components or the handles.
