Lot 647: A Set of Nine Reticulated Creamware Basketweave Plates
A set of nine reticulated creamware basketweave plates. Each circular plate is constructed from cream-coloured glazed earthenware, featuring a wide pierced border composed of a regular series of vertical rectangular apertures. The well of each plate is decorated with a finely moulded basketweave or lattice pattern radiating from a central floral or sunburst motif. The pieces are finished with a characteristic pale lead glaze. No maker’s marks, backstamps, or factory signatures are visible on the front of the items or in the provided overview photograph.
