Lot 696: An Assortment of Decorative Miniature Ceramic and Lustreware Wares
An assortment of decorative miniature ceramic and lustreware wares, comprising a souvenir vase, a lustre bowl, and two miniature cups and saucers. The white porcelain souvenir vase features a tapering trumpet form set on a square base, decorated with a transfer-printed motif of two birds perched upon a branch and the inscription ‘A Gift from Looe’. The small lustre bowl is finished with a cobalt blue exterior glaze featuring an applied white floral sprig in relief, contrasted by a metallic copper-toned lustre interior. The collection also includes two miniature porcelain cup and saucer sets: one finished in a simple white glaze with gilt rims, and a second set decorated in sage green with gold-tone dandelion-style floral motifs and a scalloped saucer edge. The base of the souvenir vase bears a printed green mark that is not legible as a name, and no other maker’s marks or backstamps are visible across the group.
