Lot 914: A Carved Wooden Djembe Drum with Dragon Motif
A medium-sized djembe drum constructed from a single piece of dark-stained wood. The lower section of the body features an intricate hand-carved dragon motif with detailed scales and stylised features. The drum head is made of natural rawhide skin, secured and tensioned by a multi-coloured synthetic rope Mali-weave system in black, green, yellow, and red. The tensioning system incorporates an integrated braided rope carrying handle. There are no maker marks, signatures, or manufacturer labels visible on the exterior or interior of the instrument.
