Lot 956: Early 20th Century Arts and Crafts Oak Sectional Stacking Bookcase
An Arts and Crafts style oak sectional bookcase, dating to the early 20th century. The unit is constructed from three stackable wooden sections mounted on a plinth base. The woodwork features prominent quarter-sawn grain patterns. The uppermost section contains a solid oak fall-front door with a central rectangular wooden handle and a brass latch mechanism, which opens to reveal an interior space with a central vertical divider. The two lower sections have open fronts and are equipped with notched interior wooden supports for adjustable shelves. The side panels of the case are finished in a darker, contrasting tone to the front-facing components. Several small circular hardware attachment points and indentations are visible on the interior side walls, although no manufacturer’s name or label is legible to identify a specific maker.
