Lot 1033: Mid-20th Century Jacobean Revival Dark Oak Glazed Display Cabinet
A mid-20th century Jacobean Revival dark oak glazed display cabinet / bookcase-on-cupboard of two-piece construction. The upper section is fitted with a pair of doors containing leaded glass panels arranged in a rectangular lattice. The interior is finished to match the exterior with two dark oak shelves and a horizontal planked backboard. The lower cupboard features twin doors, each decorated in the Jacobean fashion with a raised geometric panel in a butterfly or clipped-corner configuration. The top cornice is embellished with a turned spindle moulding, and the doors are secured with a central brass lock escutcheon. The entire piece is finished in a dark stain and stands on short, turned feet. No manufacturer marks or labels are visible on the piece.
