A late 20th century Giles oil on canvas river landscape, executed in a textured decorative style. The composition features a cluster of deciduous trees to the left and tall bulrushes and reeds in the right foreground. A small cottage or boathouse and a thin sailing mast are visible in the middle distance across the water. The sky is rendered in muted grey and blue tones with three birds in flight. The artist has utilised textured brushwork and impasto techniques to add depth to the foliage and foreground vegetation. The work is signed GILES in stylized white painted characters in the lower right corner. The painting is housed in a wooden frame with a dark stained finish and a gilt-effect beaded inner slip.
