Start price: £5

Estimated price: £5 - £8

Buyer's Premium: 20%

Sold for: £7

A cast stone garden ornament or wall plaque depicting a sleeping cherub or putto reclining amidst a cluster of grapes and vine leaves. The figure is rendered in a naturalistic style, shown resting its head on its arm in a peaceful pose, surrounded by detailed bunches of grapes and textured foliage. The piece is constructed from a light-coloured cast stone or concrete with a uniform, slightly granular surface finish appropriate for outdoor display. There are no visible maker’s marks, factory stamps, or artist signatures on the piece. A handwritten pink paper note is present on the item reading R £5 / Cherub + / Grapes. A visible surface crack or casting line is present on the cherub’s upper left arm.

Condition report:

The ornament is in good overall condition. A visible surface crack or casting line runs across the cherub\'s upper left arm (photo 1). The edges of the vine leaves and grape clusters show minor surface wear and small abrasions consistent with outdoor exposure or handling (photo 2). There are no large missing sections or evidence of professional repairs.
