A large and heavy-gauge brass bowl of Chinese origin, featuring a deep circular form with a rounded body and a slightly thickened rim. The exterior is extensively decorated with a hand-engraved four-clawed dragon depicted amidst stylized clouds and flame motifs, rendered with detailed scales and a flowing mane. The upper border near the rim is finished with a continuous Greek key or meander pattern, while the lower body is encircled by a wavy, undulating line border. The interior shows a bright polished finish to the upper sides. The metal has developed a dark patina within the recesses of the exterior engraving, which serves to highlight the decorative design. A handwritten white adhesive label is fixed to the interior reading VENDOR 1924 ANTIQUE BRASS CHINESE BOWL. There are no maker’s marks or signatures visible on the metal surface.
