Lot 714: A Collection of Chinese Famille Rose Tableware in the Wan Shou Wu Jiang Pattern
Not sold
A collection of Chinese porcelain tableware featuring a traditional iron-red ground and famille rose enamels, decorated in the Wan Shou Wu Jiang (Longevity without Limit) pattern. The group includes several flared bowls and multiple ceramic soup spoons. The exterior of the bowls is embellished with circular white medallions containing hand-painted, stylized iron-red characters including ‘無’ (wú) and ‘壽’ (shòu), set against a dense background of scrolling lotus vines and foliage in varied enamels. The rims are finished with a geometric Greek key border in polychrome enamels, while the interiors are glazed white with central floral sprays and decorative borders at the inner rim. The matching spoons feature a corresponding ‘壽’ (shòu) character within a central medallion in the bowl. The bases of the items are not visible, but the pattern and execution are characteristic of Jingdezhen production from the mid-to-late 20th century.
