A mid-20th century teak secretary bureau, featuring a fall-front writing surface over two short drawers. The piece is constructed from teak with a visible grain and a warm, medium-brown finish, supported by four cabriole legs. The exterior is decorated with hand-carved foliate borders to the top, fall-front, and side panels. The two lower drawers feature integrated, hand-carved shell-style recessed pulls. The fall-front is secured with a central brass-toned keyhole and opens on two brass hinges supported by metal sliding stays. Internally, the desk contains a central small drawer with circular finger pulls, flanked by six vertical pigeonhole compartments for document organisation. A metal strike plate is fitted to the interior lid. No maker’s marks or manufacturer labels are visible on the piece.
