A Victorian rocking gout stool constructed from a dark-stained wood, possibly mahogany or beech. The piece features a curved, slatted rocking base joined by two turned stretchers, supporting an angled seat frame. The frame is upholstered in a tapestry-style needlepoint fabric featuring a geometric and floral design in shades of rose, green, and cream. The upholstery is secured with a dense row of silver-toned metal studs along the edges. The construction utilizes mortise and tenon joints, typical of the late 19th century. A pink circular adhesive label bearing the number ’32’ is affixed to the side of the seat frame. The underside reveals a plain reddish-brown fabric covering the interior frame.
