Lot 100: An Industrial Stained Timber Workbench

This auction ended on 31 October 2026.

Start price: £3

Estimated price: £3 - £5

Buyer's Premium: 20%

Sold for: £3

An industrial workbench constructed from solid stained timber, featuring a rectangular top composed of four thick longitudinal planks. The utilitarian frame is supported by four square-section legs and incorporates a front apron housing two drawers. The drawer fronts are finished in black paint and fitted with recessed metal cup-pull handles. A heavy-duty cast-iron bench vice is bolted to the front right corner of the tabletop, showing significant surface oxidation. The overall design reflects a mid-20th-century workshop aesthetic, with the timber showing a deep, dark patina and varied surface textures from extensive functional use. No legible maker’s marks or manufacturer labels are visible on the wooden structure, and the casting marks on the vice are obscured by corrosion.

Large-scale furniture items; exact dimensions are not provided.
