A traditional tiered reconstituted stone pedestal sundial, featuring a square capstone supporting a weathered metal gnomon plate. The pedestal is constructed with a distinctive multi-tiered or “stacked” shaft comprising several rectangular stone sections with chamfered edges, leading down to a stepped rectangular base. The metal dial plate, possibly bronze or brass, is decorated with a central compass rose, Roman numeral hour markers, and an outer ring of incised characters reading “TIME FLIES”. The entire structure displays a heavily weathered surface, characteristic of prolonged outdoor exposure, including significant lichen and moss growth across the stone tiers and a green verdigris patina to the metal plate.
