Lot 755: A Vintage Two-Door Leaded Oak Bookcase

A vintage two-door oak bookcase of late 19th-century / early 20th-century fashion. The cabinet features a sturdy oak frame with a dark stained finish, displaying prominent quarter-sawn grain patterns. The two large doors are inset with glazed panels featuring a diagonal diamond-lattice pattern formed by lead cames. The doors meet at a central vertical member which is fitted with a pair of carved wooden handles in a stepped block design. The interior is fitted with adjustable horizontal shelves, currently shown containing loose cushions. The cabinet is supported by turned bun feet to the front, and the side panels are of flat-panel construction. No maker’s marks or labels are visible on the exterior surfaces of the piece.
