A hardwood tri-fold futon frame and mattress, constructed from a warm-toned polished hardwood. The frame features two large slatted sections that form the seat and backrest, connected by hinged joints to allow for conversion from a sofa to a bed position. The structure includes two decorative side panels or armrests featuring a square lattice-work parquetry design set within square capped posts. The accompanying mattress is a thick, tufted cushion upholstered in a cream or off-white textured woven fabric, possibly a cotton or linen blend. The frame is supported by short, squared wooden feet.
