A solid pine ottoman / blanket chest of contemporary construction, featuring a rectangular hinged lid. The front of the carcass is embellished with a central panel featuring a serpentine or wave-form raised decorative moulding. The lid is secured with two modern metal concealed European-style cup hinges and an adjustable metal lid stay for support when open. The chest is raised on four turned bun feet. The interior provides a large open storage compartment suitable for bedding or household items. While no maker’s marks or brand names are visible on the piece, the construction utilises standard modern cabinetry techniques and solid pine throughout.
