Lot 10: An Assortment of Salvaged Brass and Bronze Marine Porthole Components
An assortment of salvaged marine hardware, primarily consisting of porthole or portlight components. The collection includes several circular flange rings of varying diameters, each featuring a series of pre-drilled mounting holes around the perimeter. These rings are cast from solid brass and bronze, exhibiting a heavy and authentic aged patina. The lot also contains a single marine rigging turnbuckle assembly, comprising a threaded central body with a hook and eye end, attached to a length of oval-link brass chain and terminating in a circular deck plate or anchor fitting. The metal surfaces across the collection show significant signs of their maritime history, with visible verdigris, white oxidation, and residual traces of old paint and sealant. These items are salvaged components rather than complete units and are missing associated glass, hinges, and locking hardware.
