A Victorian style chaise longue featuring an asymmetrical S-shaped backrest and a fixed upholstered seat. The piece is upholstered throughout in a sage green damask fabric decorated with an all-over repeating foliate and floral pattern. The shaped backrest is finished with deep diamond-patterned button tufting, and the seat is finished with a piped edge. The frame is supported by dark-stained wooden cabriole legs, likely mahogany or walnut, with the rear legs following a simple curved out-swept form. The piece follows traditional nineteenth-century design principles with a curved silhouette and decorative upholstery. No maker’s marks or labels are visible on the exterior of the piece.
