Lot 421: An Assortment of Cut Glassware, Pyrex Ovenware, and Mixed Domestic Ceramics
A collection of glassware and ceramics featuring a substantial heavy gauge cut glass bowl. The bowl is decorated with intricate geometric cutting including central stars within diamond and hobnail fields, finished with a scalloped rim. The glassware continues with a smaller clear glass bowl featuring an all-over diamond cross-hatch pattern, a teardrop-form glass cruet with a faceted stopper, and a small decorative dish with a polychrome floral interior and dark exterior. Included are two circular clear glass baking dishes, both bearing a moulded Pyrex mark to the base with a crown symbol and the text Made in England. Ceramic items consist of a white fluted tart dish, a large white stoneware casserole or slow-cooker insert with a matching lid, and a white ovoid vase decorated with a black abstract linear pattern. The lot also contains two pottery jugs, one being a character jug featuring a face in relief with hand-painted details, and the other a utilitarian jug with a yellow glaze and dark rim. Modern kitchenware includes a Kirkton House thermal coffee pot with a grey body and a green quilted oven mitt.
Condition report:
The glassware generally appears to be in good condition. The large cut glass bowl shows no significant chips or cloudiness. The Pyrex dishes show minor surface wear from use. The large white stoneware insert shows significant internal scratching and grey marks consistent with regular domestic use. General light surface wear and marks consistent with age and use are present across the remainder of the lot.
