A two-piece garden birdbath or figural pedestal stand, comprising a shallow, circular white upvc basin resting on a stylized pedestal. The pedestal is cast from a composition material, likely reconstituted stone or concrete, and is shaped as a crouching or kneeling human figure with a ribbed band around the midsection. The piece is finished in a buff-coloured paint. The figural form is reminiscent of classical torso studies, specifically the Belvedere Torso. No maker’s marks, signatures, or inscriptions are visible on the base or body.
Condition report:
The item shows significant signs of wear and age consistent with outdoor use. There are losses to the painted finish, surface pitting, and visible cracks, particularly around the integral circular foot.
