Lot 212: Two metal garden vessels comprising a galvanised steel wash tub and a cast iron planter
This lot comprises two metal vessels of utilitarian and decorative design. The first is a large galvanised steel wash tub of tapered conical form, featuring sheet metal construction with a rolled rim and two riveted U-shaped handles. The second is a cast iron garden planter or jardinière of traditional form, featuring a heavy rounded rim and a lion-mask mount with a loose ring handle. No maker marks are visible on either piece.
Condition report:
Both items exhibit signs of age and outdoor use. The galvanised tub displays surface scratches, minor oxidation, and a weathered grey patina. The cast iron planter shows heavy weathering, including surface rust and green verdigris with organic growth.
