Lot 218: An Assortment of Vintage Workshop Tools and Equipment Including Original Baier Hand Saws and a National Machinery Bench Grinder
A collection of workshop tools and equipment comprising hand tools, power machinery, and hardware. The lot includes five full-sized hand saws with steel blades and wooden tote handles. One blade is etched with the Original Baier mark within a scrolled circular emblem, including the text Taper Ground, Chrome Vanadium Alloy Steel, and Tested for hardness and Spring. An electric bench grinder by National Machinery is included, identified as a 150mm (6 inch) model from Bury St Edmunds, UK. The grinder is fitted with a UK three-pin plug, safety guards, and a tool rest. The lot further contains four white industrial hard hats and a vintage brown textured suitcase. The suitcase holds various hand tools, several hacksaw frames, and an orange-painted Jack Hard Point saw blade, alongside a long cardboard storage tube marked Keep Dry and Clean. A cardboard box contains a large quantity of small metal and plastic containers holding assorted fasteners, including a rusted circular tin with an embossed crown emblem.
150mm.
Condition report:
All items are in used, as-found condition. Hand saw blades show varying degrees of surface oxidation and rust, with wear to the wooden handles. The bench grinder is heavily soiled with dust and is sold as untested. Hard hats exhibit significant surface marking and dirt; these are offered for decorative or collectible purposes only and are not recommended for contemporary safety use. Hardware and containers show rust and wear consistent with age and workshop storage.
