Lot 341: An Assortment of Ceramic and Decorative Tablewares including Royal Doulton, Denby, and Apilco
A comprehensive collection of assorted ceramic, stoneware, and decorative tablewares. The lot features a selection of Royal Doulton fine bone china in the Cadenza pattern, characterised by a white ground with concentric brown and gold bands; pieces bear the Royal Doulton crowned lion crest mark and are labelled Cadenza, English Fine Bone China. Included is a dark brown handcrafted stoneware bowl by Denby, marked within a rounded rectangular border as Handcrafted, Denby, Fine Stoneware, Made in England. The collection also contains two white porcelain ramekins with brown handles by Apilco, France. Further items include a variety of fine china tea plates and saucers with floral transfer decorations and gilt rims, alongside three pin dishes featuring a robin and floral bouquets. Serving and decorative pieces comprise a large white ceramic lidded tureen with embossed fruit and leaf motifs, a square-form dresser tray decorated with butterflies and insects, a hand-painted bowl with red floral designs, and a small floral-patterned lidded pot on an oval stand with cobalt blue and gilt-scroll borders. Additionally, the lot contains a large red-glazed earthenware mixing bowl, a ceramic boot, a bud vase with bird decoration, a yellow-glazed bowl with a wild rose motif, a glass decanter, and an embossed copper-toned metal goblet.
Condition report:
Items generally appear in good used condition, consistent with age. Surface scratching is visible on the larger red mixing bowl. Minor gilt wear and potential small rim chips are present on the older floral tea wares.
