Lot 538: A Nautical Shadow Box Diorama Featuring a Half-Hull Model of the Golden Hind
A decorative nautical shadow box diorama featuring a half-hull model of a three-masted galleon, identified by an internal plaque as the Golden Hind. The model is constructed from wood with rigging and fabric sails, flying a Union Jack and a St. George’s Cross. The piece is housed in a deep, square wooden frame with a white mount and brass-tone metal corner reinforcements. A small brass-tone plaque is mounted within the shadow box below the hull with a cursive script transcription reading Golden Hind. The construction suggests a mid-20th century decorative origin.

The item is in good overall condition. There is minor surface wear and scuffing visible to the wooden frame, particularly along the edges. The internal model, rigging, and fabric sails appear to be well-preserved and intact.
