Lot 574: A Pair of Imari Style Hexagonal Porcelain Table Lamps
A pair of table lamps featuring hexagonal porcelain bodies decorated in a traditional Imari palette. The hand-painted design incorporates iron red, underglaze cobalt blue, and gilt highlights, depicting scenes of flowering peonies, birds amongst branches, and butterflies. The decorative panels are enclosed by patterned borders including lattice-work and Greek key motifs. Each lamp is mounted on a carved, dark-stained hexagonal wooden base with scrolled feet and a matching wooden cap. The lamps are fitted with modern white twin-core flex, inline rocker switches, and standard UK three-pin plugs. The light fittings are brass-tone B22 bayonet cap bulb holders. No shades are present. No manufacturer marks are visible on the ceramic or wooden components. One lamp bears a handwritten tag identifying it as a China Lamp.
Condition report:
The porcelain bodies are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restoration. Minor surface wear and scuffing are present on the wooden bases, notably to the underside of the feet. These items are sold as decorative pieces and should be tested by a qualified electrician before use.
