Lot 108: A heavy-duty black painted steel strongbox with commercial padlock
A substantial utilitarian storage chest of rectangular form, constructed from fabricated sheet steel with riveted and welded components. The exterior is finished in a black paint. The hinged lid is secured by three front-mounted hasps, with the central hasp fitted with a heavy-duty commercial-grade padlock featuring a shrouded shackle. The interior is divided into two sections, comprising a large main compartment and a smaller side partition. Several adhesive auction labels are present on the exterior, including one handwritten label identifying the item as a heavy duty metal strongbox with a reserve of ten pounds. No manufacturer’s marks are visible on the box. The padlock bears characters on the face which are not clearly legible in the provided images.
