Lot 110: An Assortment of Vintage Agricultural and Workshop Tools
This collection comprises various vintage tools and equipment. Included are two curved hardwood scythe handles, also known as snaths, finished with a dark stain. The lot features a heavy cast iron cobbler’s last with three arms of varying sizes for shoe repair. Workshop accessories include a red-painted metal oil can with a curved spout and thumb-press mechanism, alongside a large wooden joiner’s mallet. Masonry equipment is represented by a rectangular steel plastering float with a wooden handle and black end-caps. A blue plastic storage bin contains further miscellaneous items, including components made of wood and leather strapping, resembling vintage shoe trees or specialised workshop clamps. No manufacturer marks or stamps are visible on the items, although a white paper lot tag marked 110 is attached to the plastic bin.
Condition report:
The items are in as found condition, showing significant signs of age and heavy industrial or agricultural use. The cast iron cobbler\'s last exhibits heavy surface oxidation and rust. The oil can shows substantial paint loss and corrosion. Wooden components, including the mallet and scythe handles, display wear, scratches, and staining consistent with age. The items are untested for functional use and are offered for decorative or historical purposes.
