Lot 134: Art Deco Mahogany Plant Stand with Pierced Metal Gallery
An Art Deco mahogany plant or display stand, dating from circa 1930s. The rectangular mahogany top is set within a raised, pierced metal gallery featuring a repeating geometric Greek key pattern. The structure features a central pedestal design with a tapered octagonal column mounted on a square plinth base. The base is supported by four out-swept stylised feet. No manufacturer marks, signatures, or factory stamps are visible on the base or body of the item. A handwritten identification label is present on the top surface.
Condition report:
The stand is in fair, used condition. The wooden top surface shows significant wear including numerous scratches, scuff marks, and several dark stains and water marks. The pierced metal gallery has some age-related tarnish and minor surface oxidation. The pedestal and base show various small knocks and surface abrasions consistent with regular use over time. The structure appears stable.
