Lot 182: A weathered reconstituted stone garden finial
A decorative garden ornament or gate pier finial of classical form, constructed from weathered reconstituted stone. The piece comprises a circular pedestal base rising to a globular body with a prominent central horizontal ridge. The form terminates in a rounded knop at the top. The surface displays a heavily pitted texture and significant organic growth.
42cm tall, 27cm diameter.
Condition report:
The item is in a heavily weathered state characteristic of long-term outdoor exposure. There is extensive moss and lichen growth across the upper surfaces and within the pitted texture of the stone. No major structural cracks or large chips are visible, though the surface is naturally aged and eroded.
