Lot 382: A Singer Black Enamelled Cast Iron Sewing Machine Head
A Singer sewing machine head manufactured from cast iron with a black enamelled finish. The body is decorated with gold-tone foliate decals along the arm and base. The manufacturer name SINGER is visible in gold-tone lettering across the top of the arm, though it is partially obscured by a white adhesive label. The unit is presented as a standalone machine head and is missing its original wooden base, carrying case, or treadle assembly. It retains a side-mounted hand wheel and needle bar. An auction lot sticker numbered 382 is affixed to the arm.
Condition report:
The machine head exhibits signs of age and wear consistent with use. There is visible dust accumulation and surface wear to the enamelled finish. The decorative decals show fading and rubbing, particularly on the base plate. The item is incomplete, lacking its original housing and base. Mechanical functionality has not been verified.
