Lot 395: An Assortment of Decorative Household Items and Collectables including Ceramics Glassware and Metalware
An assortment of decorative household items and collectables. The collection features various ceramic wares including blue and white transferware ginger jars with oriental landscape patterns and a flow-blue style platter with a scrolling border. A pierced ceramic vase with windmill decoration is executed in the Delft style. Floral-patterned ceramics comprise lidded jars with strawberry and orange blossom motifs alongside a small plate with a holly border inscribed December in script. A black and white striped ceramic cat figurine is also included. Metalware consists of several silver-plated trays featuring pierced gallery edges and chased foliate centres. Glassware is represented by a cut glass bowl with geometric patterns and other molded vessels. A single gold-toned wristwatch with a black strap is present. Certain ceramic pieces bear printed factory marks to the underside including one blue mark resembling the Spode Blue Room series.
Condition report:
The items are in mixed condition consistent with age and use. There is visible wear and tarnishing to the silver-plated metalware. Ceramics exhibit minor surface scratching shelf wear to the bases and occasional kiln grit. Glassware shows light surface abrasions. The wristwatch is untested and shows wear to the strap. The items are stored in cardboard boxes and appear to have accumulated dust and residue.
