Lot 404: An Assortment of Decorative Ceramics, Metalware, and Miscellaneous Objects
A collection of various decorative and functional items comprising ceramics, metalware, and domestic objects. The ceramic group includes a large pitcher with a transfer-printed pink rose motif, a stoneware jug, and a teapot with a brown lid and floral decoration. Further ceramic items consist of a shell-shaped green dish, a teacup and saucer with a bird design, a cream-coloured crock, and a patterned circular flower frog. Figurative elements include a peach-coloured rabbit, a teal-glazed bird, and two small figurines of children. Metalware is represented by two tankards with scrolled handles, a rectangular metal box with embossed tavern-style scenes in relief, and a metal tin containing a group of rusted iron keys. The lot also contains two small circular wooden-cased desk clocks, a glass platter, a floral-patterned plate with a metal cake-stand handle, and a large serving spoon with a turned wooden handle. A lot tag from Liskeard Auction Rooms for Lot 404 is present.
Condition report:
The items exhibit signs of age-related wear and use throughout. The iron keys show significant oxidation and surface rust. General surface wear, minor scratches, and light staining are present on various pieces. The ceramic items appear largely intact, though some may exhibit fine crazing or minor surface abrasions consistent with age.
