Lot 44: An Assortment of Vintage and Modern Hand Tools Including Stanley, Draper, and Surform
This collection of hand tools comprises various implements for woodworking, metalworking, and general maintenance. Notable items include a Stanley pump-action spiral screwdriver with a red plastic handle, a Draper combination square, and two Surform rasps, including one block type with a plastic handle and one flat type with a wooden handle. The lot also contains a wooden-handled ball-peen hammer, a woodworking chisel with a turned wooden handle, a pair of vintage metal tin snips, and an adjustable Stillson-style pipe wrench. Measurement and layout tools include a small spirit level and the aforementioned combination square. Fastening tools feature a range of screwdrivers with plastic handles, including Stanley branded examples, and an RS Components metric hexagon key set in its original red pouch. A variety of metal files and rasps in round and flat profiles are present, alongside a pair of scissors and various loose components housed in a cardboard box. Materials include forged and cast steel, hardwood, and composite plastics.
Condition report:
The tools are in used, workshop-worn condition. Significant surface oxidation and rust are visible on the tin snips, pipe wrench, and several metal files. Wooden handles show age-related wear, staining, and scuffs. Plastic handles exhibit typical scratches and marks from use. The mechanical working order of the spiral screwdriver and other moving parts is untested. The lot is sold as a mixed group and may be incomplete.
