Lot 464: An Assortment of Household Ceramics, Commemorative Ware, and Decorative Metalware
This lot comprises an assortment of household ceramics, commemorative items, and decorative metalware. Included is a porcelain plate commemorating the life of HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, featuring a central transfer-printed portrait surrounded by pink roses and gold-tone scrollwork, inscribed TO COMMEMORATE H.M. THE QUEEN MOTHER’S LIFE : 2002. The ceramic selection includes a bulbous blue-glazed jug with incised line decoration, a two-tone brown and cobalt blue stoneware jug, and a small dark-glazed jug with white floral transfer patterns and a faceted glass top. A set of white earthenware soup bowls with blue-lined rims and central floral patterns is present, along with various miscellaneous plates and bowls. Decorative pieces include an oval mirror with a ceramic frame featuring applied blue flowers and two seated putti figures, and a white ceramic vase with floral spray decoration. Metalware consists of a rectangular gallery tray with a pierced gold-toned metal rim and wood-effect laminate base, a leaf-shaped metal dish, and a brass-toned tankard. Also included is a boxed cake service set marked Service à Gâteau and made in Italy by Decor.
Condition report:
The items are in used condition. Visible wear includes surface scratching to the gallery tray and general signs of use to the ceramic items. Some pieces exhibit minor crazing or small chips consistent with age. No major repairs are visible.
