Lot 478: An 18-piece Royal Tudor Autumn Glory pattern ironstone tea service by Grindley of Stoke
A part tea service in the Autumn Glory pattern by Royal Tudor, produced by Grindley of Stoke, Staffordshire. The set is constructed from fine English ironstone with a speckled oatmeal glazed finish. The decoration features transfer-printed floral sprays in autumnal shades of brown, ochre, and orange, finished with a thin brown line to the rims. The service consists of 6 tea cups, 6 saucers, and 6 side plates. The base of the pieces features a printed mark with a floral sprig and text reading ROYAL TUDOR, Autumn Glory, Fine English Iron Stone, Staffordshire England, Grindley of Stoke. The mark also includes the number 43 and a graphic of three diagonal lines.
Condition report:
The set is in good overall condition. One cup displays internal brownish staining and residue. There are minor manufacturing inclusions and light surface wear consistent with age and use. No significant chips or cracks are observed.
