Lot 486: A Trio of Decorative Vases to include a Bolem Staffordshire Ceramic Vase and Two Glass Vessels
A trio of decorative vessels comprising one ceramic and two glass examples. The primary piece is a twin-handled pedestal vase in cobalt blue glazed ceramic, featuring a central transfer-printed romantic figural vignette. The vase is further detailed with gilded highlights to the rim and scroll handles. The underside bears the printed manufacturer mark for Bolem, Staffordshire, England. The glass components include a clear glass ovoid vase with vertical ribbing and a flared rim. Accompanying this is a clear glass vase of tapered rectangular section, decorated with deep geometric diamond patterns, possibly cut or moulded. One glass vessel retains a previous auction house lot sticker from Liskeard Auction Rooms.
Condition report:
The items are in generally good condition with light surface wear consistent with age and use. The ceramic vase exhibits prominent crazing to the underside of the base. Minor adhesive residue is present on the glass surfaces. No chips or cracks are visible upon inspection.
