Lot 507: An Assortment of Vintage Collectibles including a Decorative Tin, Costume Jewellery, and Insignia
An assortment of vintage collectibles and miscellaneous items. The lot features an embossed metal tin with a textured blue-green finish, containing a large quantity of assorted buttons and a paper TWO Embassy VOUCHERS slip from W.D. and H.O. Wills. Accompanying the tin is a collection of costume jewellery, including pink and black bead necklaces, pearl-effect strands, and a circular stone-effect pendant. Also included is a small, silver-toned curved metal desk clock with a white face and Roman numerals. A blue plastic pouch contains an embroidered green and white shield-shaped patch for Swinton and Pendlebury and a silver-toned eight-pointed star badge bearing the central motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE. A lot tag from Liskeard Auction Rooms identifying the collection as Lot 507 is attached to the tin.
Condition report:
The items show various signs of age-related wear. The metal tin exhibits surface oxidation and wear to the decorative finish. The costume jewellery is tangled. Surface tarnishing and light scratches are visible on the metal components of the clock and badges. The clock is untested for timekeeping.
