Lot 53: An Assortment of Vintage Agricultural and Gardening Hand Tools including Stabila Spirit Level
A collection of miscellaneous manual outdoor and agricultural hand tools. The lot includes a pair of heavy-duty bolt cutters with long handles and a pivot-jointed cutting head. Shovels and spades within the group comprise a T-handled pointed shovel, a long-handled square-mouth shovel, and a D-handled square-mouth shovel with a partially green-painted metal shaft. Garden and edging tools include a half-moon edging iron, a square-bladed hoe, a crescent-shaped Dutch-style hoe, and a garden rake. Also present is a felling axe featuring a wooden haft and a metal head with remnants of blue paint. A yellow-bodied spirit level is included, marked with the manufacturer name Stabila. The tools are manufactured from forged or pressed steel with turned wooden handles. A white rectangular inventory sticker with the characters 053 is present on one shovel handle.
Condition report:
The collection is in a heavily used, as-found condition. All metal components exhibit significant surface oxidation and rust. The wooden handles are weathered with visible grain lifting and signs of prolonged outdoor exposure. The tools appear structurally complete but require restoration and sharpening.
