Lot 533: An Assortment of Victorian and Edwardian Clear Pressed and Cut Glass Domestic Items
An assortment of clear domestic glassware, primarily dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The collection includes three pressed glass culinary moulds, comprising two circular forms and one oval form. Each mould features a traditional pattern of raised bullseye domes to the crown and deep vertical fluted panels to the exterior walls. Also included is a small cut-glass cream jug, decorated with a band of diamond-point cutting and vertical flutes, finished with a loop handle and polished rim. Completing the lot is a vintage shaving brush with a heavy, faceted glass handle and natural bristles. The items are constructed from heavy-gauge clear glass, likely lead or flint glass, showing high clarity. No maker’s marks or signatures are present.
Condition report:
The items are in good condition commensurate with age and domestic use. The glass remains clear without evidence of sickness or clouding. Minor surface scratches and light shelf wear to the bases are present. The shaving brush bristles are intact but show signs of previous use and age.
