Lot 562: A Decorative Reproduction Flintlock Pistol and Powder Horn
A lot comprising a decorative non-firing reproduction flintlock pistol and a coordinating powder horn. The pistol is designed in an 18th-century style, featuring a round metal barrel with a dark finish and a brass-toned flintlock action. The full-length stock is constructed from stained wood and includes a brass-toned trigger guard and a rounded pommel with a matching metal cap. No maker’s marks or proof marks are present on the lock plate or barrel. The powder horn is fashioned from natural horn with metal fittings at the nozzle and base, appearing to be brass or copper. It is fitted with a twisted cord carrying strap and a decorative tassel.
Condition report:
Both items are in good decorative condition. The pistol shows minor surface wear to the wooden stock and metal components. The powder horn exhibits natural variations in the horn material and light surface scuffing consistent with display use.
