Lot 713: A Mid-20th Century Ademco Merrett Industrial Paper Guillotine
An industrial-style paper guillotine manufactured by Ademco in England. The unit features a grey-painted base board constructed from metal and wood. A fixed metal measurement ruler is mounted along the top edge. The cutting mechanism consists of a curved steel blade operated by a metal handle with a wooden grip. A circular red metal badge is riveted to the base, bearing the text MADE IN ENGLAND, ADEMCO, and MERRETT GUILLOTINE.
Ruler measurement: 11 inches.
Condition report:
The item is in used, unrestored condition. Significant surface oxidation and heavy rust are present on the steel cutting blade and the metal handle assembly. The grey-painted baseboard shows various scuffs, scratches, and paint loss consistent with age and workshop use. The wooden edges of the base show wear and minor chipping.
