Lot 826: A Trio of Copper Alloy and Cast Iron Utilitarian Vessels
A trio of utilitarian metal vessels comprising a rectangular trough, a cylindrical bucket, and a cast iron pot. The rectangular trough is formed from copper alloy sheet metal with a rolled rim and rounded ends. The cylindrical bucket is also of copper alloy sheet metal construction, with a form resembling a repurposed military shell casing or ammunition canister. The small globular pot is of cast iron construction and features a wire bail handle. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible on any of the three items.
Condition report:
All items exhibit significant signs of age and weathering. The copper alloy trough and bucket show a heavy aged patina with areas of green verdigris oxidation and surface scratching. The bucket has a prominent dent to the bottom edge. The cast iron pot is heavily rusted and pitted across all surfaces. Interior surfaces of the vessels contain dried residue.
