Lot 829: A Pair of Late 20th Century Country Style Pine Ladderback Dining Chairs
A pair of country-style dining side chairs dating from the late 20th century. Each chair is constructed from stained pine, displaying prominent grain and natural knots throughout the frame. The design features a ladder-back consisting of a scalloped top rail above three matching wavy-edged horizontal splats. The fixed, padded seats are upholstered in a multi-coloured tapestry-style fabric with a repeating geometric pattern in shades of green, brown, and terracotta. No maker’s marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the frames or upholstery. A small white adhesive lot tag numbered 829 is present on the top rail of one chair.
Condition report:
The chairs exhibit signs of general wear consistent with age and use, including scattered surface scuffs, nicks, and scratches to the wood finish. The upholstery appears intact with no significant staining or tears visible.
